Be Careful when you Cosign
If you have been asked to consign on a loan for a friend, family member, or someone else close to you, you may want to think twice before signing on the dotted line.
When you agree to cosign on a loan or other payment, you are basically guarenteeing the financial institution that the person will not default on their payments, and if they do, you will take the responsibility of paying off the required debt.

Your credit history could be ruined by cosigning with a person, and then having them fall behind on their payments. These negative marks could jeopardize your rating, which would decrease your chances of being approved for your own loan in the future.
By taking precautions now, you can save yourself from going through the problems and the hassels which come with having poor credit history.
